Let's Do This.
When I started this blog, I did so with the intention of actually using it. Looking at the length of time I've had it and the small amount of posts compared to that timeframe, I'd say I'm not doing so well. I think it's time to change that. But to you, my readers, I am going to need your help.
Today is the beginning of the season of Lent, a time where many people of faith will give up something, usually something they like or enjoy a great deal, as a means of self-denial in preparation for celebrating the death and resurrection of Jesus. I have taken part in this historically, giving up Coca-Cola, pizza, barbecue sauce, internet, and other things of that nature. But this year, I'm going to take a different approach.
Starting with this post, I am committing to spend the Lenten season doing at least one complete blog post a day from now until Resurrection day, excluding Sundays. I'm calling on you, my readers and friends, to hold me to this challenge. In my early teens, I wrote almost daily on a site called Xanga. If I missed a day, there were tons of comments, instant messages, and other forms of communication wondering if I had disappeared from the face of the planet. This venture hasn't been quite like that, but I would appreciate some similar concern during this time. Sticking with long-term challenges has never been easy for me, but encouragement always makes things easier.
I could also use help in the creative realm of keeping up on this. Because blogging doesn't serve much purpose without someone to actually read what's written, what kind of things would you like to see me post? I am open to suggestions of style, topics, and pretty much any other suggestions you might have (using proper discretion, of course!). So feel free to get involved, and together, we can make this 40 days work. Let's do this!

Sounds good Sean. How about some sermon ideas you are working on, future appointments you'd love to have someday, and vacation dreams?
